Cook and Eat the Season
Move from ingredient to story to table: a small cooking and meal experience shaped by lotus, garden produce, rice, fish and the mild, generous flavours of rural Southern Vietnam.

The table tells a landscape
Food with memory, not a generic cooking class
VMF’s food story is rooted in the memory of reclaiming Dong Thap Muoi: using what the season offers, wasting little and gathering around a shared meal.
Depending on ingredients and group format, guests may prepare a lotus dish, a simple cake, vegetables, rice or another local component with the hosts.
Planned before arrival
A menu that respects the guest and the season
Vegetarian food, mild seasoning, allergies and children’s meals can be planned when communicated early. The confirmed menu states what is included and whether the experience is participatory or a hosted meal.
- Seasonal local ingredients with clear sourcing where possible.
- Mild seasoning and chilli served separately on request.
- Vegetarian, family and allergy needs discussed in advance.
- No meat from wild animals.
Ways to experience it
Choose the level of participation
Some guests want to cook; others prefer to listen, taste and share stories. VMF can propose a cooking session, a lotus tea moment, the Dong Thap Muoi memory meal or a simpler family table.

FAQ
Practical questions
Can the experience be vegetarian?
Often yes, with advance notice. VMF confirms the actual menu and preparation conditions for your dates.
Is this suitable for children?
It can be adapted with age-appropriate tasks, mild flavours and careful supervision around heat and tools.
Is a cooking class available every day?
No. It depends on ingredient, host and group availability. A hosted seasonal meal may be the better option on some dates.
Your stay is part of the living system
Where you sleep, what you eat and what the habitat can carry are connected
At VMF, quiet protects habitat; seasonal food connects guests with land and local growers; careful use of water, energy and materials reduces pressure on the place you came to live within.
